NINE BREWERS SELECTED FOR WBC

PUERTO RICO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WELL REPRESENTED BY BREWERS

Rosters were announced on Wednesday for the 2017 World Baseball Classic with nine Milwaukee Brewers selected to participate for their respective countries.

Pitchers Jorge Lopez, Hiram Burgos and Andrew Barbosa were named to Puerto Rico’s roster while infielder Jonathan Villar and pitcher Wily Peralta were selected to represent the Dominican Republic. In addition, pitchers Wei-Chung Wang (Chinese Taipei) and Carlos Torres (Mexico) and utility men Hernan Perez (Venezuela) and Cody Decker (Israel) were all chosen to participate in the tournament as well.

The World Baseball Classic will kick off with first round games March 7th-12th in Tokyo, Japan, Seoul, South Korea, Guadalajara, Mexico and Miami, Florida. Second round games will follow in Tokyo and San Diego, California with the semi finals and finals taking place at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, California from March 20th-22nd.
