SPRING TRAINING GAME RECAP: 2/28/17

Kansas City Royals 6, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 3

The Brewers got on the board first when Keon Broxton tripled to lead off the bottom of the first, then scored on a single by Domingo Santana. They extended their lead to 2-0 on a long blast to straight away center field off the bat of shortstop Yadiel Rivera for his first home run of the spring.  The Royals tied things up with two runs off of reliever Michael Blazek in the fourth then took the lead on a solo home run by Ryan O’Hearn in the top of the sixth.  Kansas City plated three more runs in the eighth to extend their lead to 6-2 before Lewis Brinson scored on a bloop hit by Manny Pina to make it 6-3.  That would be as close as Milwaukee would get however as they saw their Cactus League record fall to 1-3.  Hiram Burgos allowed four runs over two plus innings of work and was charged with the loss.
