MILWAUKEE BREWERS 3, Arizona Diamondbacks 6
The Brewers saw their Cactus League win streak stopped at six on Friday afternoon as they fell to the Diamondbacks in split-squad action. Arizona got a run in the first off of starter Chase Anderson, who went three innings and was charged with the loss. They added three more in the fourth off of Brent Suter, before Milwaukee finally got on the board with a Kirk Nieuwenhuis solo home run in the top of the fifth. The D-Backs tacked on a pair of runs in the sixth before the Brewers mounted a rally in the seventh. Brett Phillips singled to score Nieuwenhuis and Michael Reed but that would be as close as Milwaukee would get as they fell by a score of 6-3.
Chicago White Sox 4, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 3
In Maryvale, the Brewers other split-squad roster fell to the White Sox by a score of 4-3. Chicago put up two runs in the third and held Milwaukee off the scoreboard until Art Charles cranked a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. The Brewers took the lead in the following inning when Lewis Brinson belted a two-run homer to put Milwaukee up 3-2, but the White Sox responded with two runs in the top of the ninth to re-take the lead. The Brewers tried to put together some ninth inning magic of their own, and had runners on first and second, but Max McDowell was picked off of first base to end the game.
