SPRING TRAINING GAME RECAP: 3/11/17

San Diego Padres 3, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 5

The Brewers got back on the winning track on Saturday afternoon, topping the Padres by a score of 5-3 at Maryvale Baseball Park. Milwaukee got on the scoreboard right away in the bottom of the first inning when a double by Ryan Braun scored Eric Thames all the way from first. The Padres put up three runs in the top of the third to take a 3-1 lead, but the Brewers answered with a three-run bomb off the bat of Jesus Aguilar, his third of the spring, to re-take the lead at 4-3. They tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh as Brett Phillips scored on an RBI single from Rene Garcia, providing the final margin of victory. Matt Garza started and went 2.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits while walking three. Tyler Cravy continued his strong spring with 1.1 innings of shutout relief to earn the victory with Damien Magnifico tossing a scoreless ninth for the save.
