SPRING TRAINING GAME RECAP: 4/1/17

Chicago White Sox 4, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 5

The Brewers wrapped up exhibition play with a 5-4 walk-off win over the Chicago White Sox at Miller Park on Saturday afternoon. The White Sox got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning, but Milwaukee took the lead with a pair of runs in the sixth on a single by Jesus Aguilar. Jose Abreu briefly tied the game with a home run in the seventh but the Brewers moved back in front on a Kirk Nieuwenhuis homer in the bottom half of the inning. Milwaukee added one more on a White Sox error before Chicago tied things up again in the top of the ninth, but the Brewers loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth and Kyle Wren’s base hit drove in Jett Bandy with the winning run. Jimmy Nelson started and went five innings, allowing one run. Corey Knebel recorded the final two outs in the ninth and picked up the win.
