WHAT TO WATCH FOR
– The Brewers newest affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats, will take to the field for the first time with Corbin Burnes getting the Opening Day nod. The Mudcats, who look to be one of the most interesting squads to follow early on, feature several of Milwaukee’s top prospects, including infielders Isan Diaz and Lucas Erceg and outfielder Trent Clark. They will be the first of Milwaukee’s affiliates to kick off their season with first pitch scheduled for 6pm Central time in Frederick, Maryland.
– In Colorado Springs, the Sky Sox are slated to be the lone affiliate to open their season at home, but weather in recent days has made that a bit of a question mark. The snow that passed through in recent days appears to be out of the picture however and top pitching prospect Josh Hader is scheduled to take the ball for his first start of the season.
– At the big league level, the Brewers wrap up their four game series with the Rockies as Chase Anderson takes to the mound in a matinee at Miller Park. Milwaukee picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday night behind home runs from Eric Thames, Travis Shaw and Jonathan Villar and will look to build on that momentum and gain a series split on Thursday.
