MILWAUKEE BREWERS 10, Cincinnati Reds 4

The Brewers offense tallied ten runs on twelve hits as they improved their record to 6-5 with a 10-4 win over the Reds.  Tommy Milone started for Milwaukee and was credited with the win after going five innings and giving up three runs.  Catcher Manny Pina paced the Brewers offense, going 4-for-5 with two doubles while Eric Thames added two hits, including his third home run of the season. Jonathan Villar went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks while stealing three bases and Ryan Braun walked three times and stole two bases.  Orlando Arcia stayed hot with a pair of hits with Nick Franklin chipping in a triple and Domingo Santana adding a double.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 3, Memphis Redbirds 1

Four Colorado Springs pitchers combined to limit Memphis to just one hit as the Sky Sox topped the Redbirds 3-1.  Brandon Woodruff started and earned the win, going five innings and allowing just one unearned run. Tristan Archer followed with two hitless innings before Michael Blazek worked a 1-2-3 eighth and Rob Scahill closed the door in the ninth for the save.  Ivan De Jesus, Jr. led the offense, going 4-for-4 with a triple while Ryan Cordell belted his second home run of the season as part of a 2-for-5 night.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, BILOXI SHUCKERS 6

Biloxi scored five runs in the second inning and that proved to be more that enough as they knocked off Pensacola 6-2.  Taylor Williams started for the Shuckers and worked two scoreless innings before handing the ball to Jon Perrin.  Perrin went four innings, allowing two unearned runs, and picked up the victory.  Michael Reed hit his second home run of the year for Biloxi while Mauricio Dubon, Dustin DeMuth, Clint Coulter and Javier Betancourt all finished the game with two hits.

Frederick Keys 3, CAROLINA MUDCATS 5

The Mudcats picked up their first home win of 2017, topping Frederick by a score of 5-3.  Cody Ponce got the starting nod and earned the win, going seven innings and giving up three runs, two earned.  Jon Olczak worked a scoreless ninth to collect his first save of the year. Lucas Erceg led the Carolina offense, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles.  Luis Aviles also reached base three times with a walk and two singles while also stealing a pair of bases.  Mitch Ghelfi added two hits for the Mudcats and Trent Clark singled, walked and stole a base.


Demi Orimoloye‘s home run in the top of the tenth inning broke a 0-0 tie and helped Wisconsin improve their record to 4-5 on the season.  Thomas Jankins got the start and worked six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six.  Luke Barker followed with three shutout innings and picked up the win, while Daniel Brown got the save, despite allowing two runs in the bottom of the tenth.  Jose Cuas reached base three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk with Tucker Neuhaus and Jonathan Oquendo each adding a single.
