MILWAUKEE BREWERS 5, Cincinnati Reds  7

The Brewers saw their winning streak snapped on Saturday as they fell to the Reds by a score of 7-5.  Zach Davies got the start for Milwaukee and wound up going five innings, allowing three runs. Carlos Torres followed and was charged with the loss after surrendering three runs in his lone inning of work. Eric Thames led the Brewers offense, crushing his fourth and fifth home runs of the year while Hernan Perez also homered as part of a 3-for-4 performance that also included a double.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 6, Nashville Sounds 1

The Sky Sox scored two runs in the first, seventh and eighth innings as they knocked off Nashville 6-1.  Brent Suter made the start for Colorado Springs and earned the victory, tossing five scoreless innings.  Brett Phillips reached base three times, going 2-for-4 with a walk.  Tyler Heineman had two base hits while Ryan Cordell crushed his third home run of the season and Lewis Brinson chipped in a double.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos 2, BILOXI SHUCKERS 1

The Shuckers offense continued to sputter on Saturday night, managing only one run on just one hit.  Luis Ortiz got the starting nod for Biloxi and tossed five no-hit innings of baseball before handing the ball to the bullpen.  Tayler Scott surrendered a run in the top of the 11th inning and was charged with the loss. Mauricio Dubon had the only hit of the game for Biloxi, going 1-for-3 with a walk while also setting a team record with four stolen bases in the game.

Frederick Keys 5, CAROLINA MUDCATS 1

The Mudcats fell to 5-4 on the season as they were defeated by Frederick 5-1.  Freddy Peralta got the start and took the loss after giving up four runs over five innings of work, despite recording nine strikeouts.  Marcos Diplan followed and gave up just one unearned run over the final four innings.  Max McDowell led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double while Isan Diaz reached base twice, collecting a single and a base on balls.


Wisconsin scored five runs in the fourth inning as they defeated Cedar Rapids in a rain-shortened contest by a score of 6-0.  Braden Webb started for the Rattlers and picked up the win after working five scoreless frames and allowing just two hits. Tucker Neuhaus reached base three times, collecting a single, double and walk while Gilbert Lara belted his first home run of the season.
