The Brewers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but the Cubs came back to top Milwaukee in a 9-7 slugfest at Wrigley Field.  Jimmy Nelson started for the Crew and went 5.1 innings but was charged with seven runs.  Jared Hughes came on in relief in the sixth and was tagged with the loss.  Travis Shaw led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run while Eric Thames also contributed a pair of doubles as part of a three hit game. Ryan Braun finished 2-for-4 and Orlando Arcia smacked his first home run of 2017.

Memphis Redbirds 4, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 14

The Sky Sox scored 14 runs on 18 hits as they rolled over Memphis 14-4.  Paolo Espino started and earned the win, going 5.1 innings and allowing four runs.  Lewis Brinson fell just a triple short of a cycle, going 4-for-6 with a double and a home run.  Ryan Cordell, Brett Phillips, Ivan De Jesus, Jr. and Espino all finished with multi-hit games with Cordell recording a double and a triple in five trips to the plate.

BILOXI SHUCKERS @ Chattanooga Lookouts (Suspended, Rain)

The Shuckers and Lookouts managed to get two innings in before the rains hit on Tuesday night, suspending the game in the top of the third.  The two teams will continue the contest as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday night

Lynchburg Hillcats 1, CAROLINA MUDCATS 0 (Game One)

The Mudcats were shutout on just two hits as they dropped game one of their doubleheader 1-0.  Corbin Burnes got the start and worked five shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five.  Brad Kuntz followed and suffered the loss, working the final two frames and giving up the game’s only run.  Isan Diaz and Lucas Erceg picked up the only Carolina hits while Corey Ray and Trent Clark each managed a walk.

Lynchburg Hillcats 7, CAROLINA MUDCATS 1 (Game Two)

Carolina fell to .500 on the season as they were swept in their doubleheader, losing by a score of 7-1 in game two.  Kodi Medeiros started and took the loss after allowing five runs in just 3.1 innings of work.  Eric Hanhold relieved him and allowed a pair of runs over the final 3.2 innings.  Corey Ray and Mitch Ghelfi each contributed a double for the Mudcats while Trent Clark reached base in two of his three plate appearances, going 1-for-2 with a walk.


Wisconsin scored two in the seventh and two in the eighth as they topped Clinton by a score of 9-5.  Victor Diaz got the start and went 2.1 innings, allowing four runs before turning hings over to the bullpen.  Nattino Diplan worked three scoreless innings of relief and earned the victory.  Mario Feliciano led the Rattlers offense, going 3-for-5 with a double while Monte Harrison added a single and a double.  Tucker Neuhaus and Demi Orimoloye each contributed their third home runs of the year while Jose Cuas finished with a double, a walk and a stolen base.
