St. Louis Cardinals 6, MILWAUKEE BREWERS  3
The Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning as they defeated Milwaukee 6-3.  Wily Peralta started for the Brewers and suffered his first loss of the year after allowing six runs over four innings.  Ryan Braun slugged his sixth home run of the season as part of a two-hit night while Jonathan Villar and Manny Pina each added two hits and Orlando Arcia and Keon Broxton chipped in a double and a triple respectively.

Memphis Redbirds 5, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX  1  (Game One)
The Sky Sox dropped the front end of their doubleheader with Memphis, falling by a score of 5-1.  Josh Hader started and took the loss, allowing four runs, three earned, over six innings of work.  Lewis Brinson led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double. Yadiel Rivera finished 2-for-3 while Garrett Cooper and Hader each added a base hit.

Memphis Redbirds 1, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX  5  (Game Two)
Colorado Springs turned the tables in game two, knocking off Memphis by an identical 5-1 margin.  Michael Blazek wound up making the spot start for the Sky Sox and worked three scoreless innings.  Tyler Cravy tossed 1.1 innings of scoreless relief and was credited with the victory.  Lewis Brinson finished 3-for-4 with a home run while Ryan Cordell also contributed three hits and Kyle Wren and Yadiel Rivera each finished with multi-hit efforts as well.

BILOXI SHUCKERS 3, Chattanooga Lookouts 6
The Shuckers saw their record fall to 6-9 on the season as they were doubled up by Chattanooga 6-3.  Angel Ventura got the start and went 3.2 innings, allowing three runs.  Taylor Jungmann gave up three runs, two earned, in three innings of work and was charged with the loss.  Johnny Davis had the lone multi-hit game for Biloxi, going 2-for-5 with a double while Michael Reed added his third home run of the year.

Buies Creek Astros 9, CAROLINA MUDCATS 4

Eduardo de Oleo touched up Carolina pitching for three home runs as the Mudcats fell to the Astros 9-4.  Marcos Diplan got the ball to start the game but didn’t make it out of the first inning, giving up six runs in two-thirds of an inning of work.  Jake Gatewood and Troy Stokes each reached base four times, with three hits and a walk for each.  Lucas Erceg finished 2-for-5 with a double and Isan Diaz belted his first home run of 2017.


The Timber Rattlers scored two in the third and two in the fifth as they topped Peoria 4-1.  Cameron Roegner got the start and earned the win after tossing six scoreless innings with Braden Webb recording the final six outs for the save.  Demi Orimoloye had half of Wisconsin’s hits, going 3-for-4 with Monte Harrison adding his fifth home run of the year.
