St. Louis Cardinals 6, MILWAUKEE BREWERS  4
Milwaukee plated two runs in the bottom of the ninth but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Cardinals by a score of 6-4.  Jimmy Nelson started for the Brewers and took the loss, allowing three earned runs over 5.1 innings of work.  Manny Pina hit his first home run of the season to lead the offense while Keon Broxton and Ryan Braun each contributed a single and a double.

Nashville Sounds 5, COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX  6
The Sky Sox carried a six run lead into the ninth inning, then barely held on for a 6-5 victory.  Paolo Espino got the start and the win for Colorado Springs, working 6.2 innings of scoreless ball while Rob Scahill got the final out for the save.  Ryan Cordell had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double and a home run.  Garrett Cooper also homered and Ivan De Jesus, Jr. added two hits in three at-bats.

Jackson Generals 2, BILOXI SHUCKERS 3
Dustin Houle’s tenth inning single drove in George Iskenderian with the winning run as Biloxi beat Jackson 3-2.  Jorge Lopez got the start and went six innings, allowing just one run with Matt Ramsey tossing a scoreless tenth to earn the win. Clint Coulter hit his first home run of the year for the Shuckers while Javier Betancourt and Mauricio Dubon each added two hits and Michael Reed chipped in a double.

Buies Creek Astros 1, CAROLINA MUDCATS  6
The Mudcats got home runs from Lucas Erceg and Troy Stokes, Jr. as they topped Carolina 6-1.  Corbin Burnes got the start and the win, going six innings and allowing just one run while striking out nine.  Stokes finished the day 2-for-3 with a walk while Erceg also wound up with two hits.  Corey Ray doubled and walked and Jake Gatewood added a single and a walk.

Peoria scored three in the eighth to come back and knock off the Timber Rattlers 6-5.  Nattino Diplan started for Wisconsin and went five innings, giving up two runs. Luke Barker allowed a run in an inning and two-thirds and was charged with the loss. Tucker Neuhaus and Monte Harrison each finished the day 2-for-4 with a double while Joantgel Segovia was on base three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk.
