COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX

Player of the Month

Pitcher of the Month

Brandon Woodruff – The 24-year-old Woodruff proved to by the most reliable starter for Colorado Springs through the first month of the season.  In four starts, Woodruff went 4-0 with a 1.61 earned run average, allowing just four earned runs in 22.1 innings of work.

BILOXI SHUCKERS

Player of the Month

Dustin DeMuth – Biloxi’s offense has struggled as a whole to start the season but DeMuth held his own in the middle of the Shuckers lineup.  In 20 games, the former fifth rounder out of Indiana hit .277 with three doubles and a home run.

Pitcher of the Month

Jorge Lopez – The Brewers opted to have Lopez head back to Biloxi rather than sending him to Colorado Springs and it’s looked like a smart decision thus far.  In five April starts, Lopez went 2-1 with a 1.73 ERA, striking out 30 batters over 26 innings.

CAROLINA MUDCATS

Player of the Month

Jake Gatewood – The 21-year-old Gatewood has been a pleasant surprise for the Mudcats early on, hitting .329/.433/.573 in 23 April contests.  His four home runs are tied for the team lead and his 16 walks and nine doubles are also team highs.

WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS

Player of the Month

Monte Harrison – Despite being his third stint in the Midwest League, Harrison is still just 21 years old and got off to a fast start for the Rattlers, batting .315 with five doubles and six home runs through his first 20 games and could be in line for a quick promotion.

Pitcher of the Month

Trey Supak – The 20-year-old Supak was unscored upon in his first two outings of the year for the Timber Rattlers and finished the month of April with an ERA of 2.79. The big right-hander racked up 22 strikeouts in 19.1 innings and held opposing hitters to a .169 batting average.
