The Brewers parted ways with 2012 first round pick Victor Roache on Thursday, trading him to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for either a player to be named later or cash.
Roache, 25, was taken by Milwaukee with one of their three first rounders in 2012. After belting a career high 22 home runs for Class-A Wisconsin in his debut season, Roache battled injuries and inconsistency over the past several seasons. He played in 22 games for Double-A Biloxi this season, but was batting just .176 with four doubles for the Shuckers.
Milwaukee has also made a handful of other transactions in recent days, including the release of five players on Tuesday. The Brewers announced the release of pitchers Junior Rincon and Jack Finnegan, outfielder Juan Ortiz, shortstop Ignacio Otano and catcher Charles Galiano. In addition, the team also promoted Tristan Archer back to Triple-A Colorado Springs with righty David Goforth going on the disabled list there.
