MILWAUKEE BREWERS 0, Pittsburgh Pirates 4
The Brewers were shutout by the Pirates on Friday night, losing by a score of 4-0.  Jimmy Nelson started and cruised through the first three scoreless innings before the game was halted due to rain.  When play resumed after a delay of nearly two and a half hours, Rob Scahill took the hill and wound up suffering the loss after giving up four runs, two earned, in two innings of work. Nick Franklin finished 3-for-4 while Keon Broxton and Domingo Santana each added a double.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 15, Oklahoma City Dodgers 3
The Sky Sox racked up 15 runs on 21 hits as they rolled over Oklahoma City 15-3.  Brent Suter got the start and picked up the win, going five innings and allowing just two runs.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis singled, doubled and homered (1) in five trips to the plate. Garrett Cooper also doubled and homered (5) while Lewis Brinson, Ryan Cordell, Yadiel Rivera, Eric Sogard, Kyle Wren and Suter all finished with multi-hit games.

Montgomery Biscuits 5, BILOXI SHUCKERS 4
Montgomery tied the game with three runs in the seventh, then scored again in the eighth to defeat Biloxi 5-4. Taylor Williams started and allowed one unearned run in his two innings of work.  Forrest Snow worked the final three frames and suffered the loss after being charged with one run.  Art Charles went 2-for-3 with a home run (1) for the Shuckers while Michael Reed (5) and Javier Betancourt (1) also homered and Blake Allemand added two hits and a walk.

Frederick Keys 12, CAROLINA MUDCATS 9
The Mudcats dropped a slugfest to Frederick, losing by a score of 12-9.  Eric Hanhold got the start and took the loss after getting lit up for eight runs in only 2.1 innings of work. Trent Clark led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run (3) and a walk.  Max McDowell went 3-for-5 while Jake Gatewood added two doubles and a walk and Luis Aviles and Carlos Belonis each contributed two hits.

The Timber Rattlers were shutout by Dayton as they dropped game one of their series 7-0.  Nattino Diplan got the start and took the loss, giving up six runs, five earned in 4.2 innings.  David Burkhalter made his 2017 debut in relief and went three innings, giving up just one run. Demi Orimoloye tripled while Mario Feliciano, Nathan Rodriguez and Ryan Aguilar each added a base hit.
