Zach Davies held the Cubs scoreless through the first five innings, but Chicago plated two in the sixth, one in the seventh and one in the eighth as they topped the Brewers for a second straight day. Domingo Santana provided the only offense for the Brewers, going 1-for-4 with his 18th home run of the season.
COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 6, Las Vegas 51’s 12
Las Vegas scored seven runs in the sixth inning as they knocked off Colorado Springs by a score of 12-6. Angel Ventura got the start and took the loss, going 5.1 innings, but allowing six runs. Keon Broxton and Chris Colabello each went 2-for-4 with a home run for the Sky Sox, while Mauricio Dubon went 2-for-4 with a double.
Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 3, BILOXI SHUCKERS 4
Troy Stokes, Jr. belted his first Double-A home run on Sunday as the Shuckers edged Jacksonville 4-3. Travis Hissong made the spot start for Biloxi after Luis Ortiz was scratched due to illness, and worked 4.1 innings, allowing just one run. Quintin Torres-Costa picked up the win with Jorge Lopez notching his second save. Stokes finished the day 2-for-3 with a walk while Angel Ortega and Gabriel Noriega each went 2-for-4 with a double.
Wilmington Blue Rocks 2, CAROLINA MUDCATS 3
The Mudcats scored three runs in the second inning and made it hold up as they topped Wilmington 3-2. Kodi Medeiros got the start and earned the win, going seven innings and allowing only two runs. Nate Griep tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his 20th save of the year. Jake Gatewood doubled and walked for Carolina while Jose Cuas added a single and drove in a pair of runs.
WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 3, Peoria Chiefs 1
The Rattlers scored two in the sixth and tacked on an insurance run in the ninth as they beat Peoria 3-1. Starting pitcher Victor Diaz went five scoreless innings to earn the win, with Daniel Brown tossing the final two innings to record the save. Weston Wilson finished the day 3-for-5 with a double while Ryan Aguilar also contributed three hits and Mario Feliciano belted his fourth home run of the season.
HELENA BREWERS 8, Missoula Osprey 1
Helena banged out eight runs on 15 hits as they rolled over Missoula 8-1. Alec Bettinger started and went five innings without allowing a run to earn the win. Nick Roscetti paced the offense, going 3-for-5 with a double. KJ Harrison also collected three hits and drove in two runs while Juan Gomez added a pair of doubles.
AZL Brewers 2, AZL Diamondbacks 6
The Diamondbacks scored two in the first and three in the fourth as they knocked off the Brewers 6-2. Christian Taugner started and was charged with the loss, giving up five runs, three earned, over four innings of work. Julian Jarrard led the offense, going 2-for-4 with two doubles while Tristen Lutz added a double.
