Minor League Baseball announced their weekly Player of the Week Awards on Monday with Colorado Springs Sky Sox pitcher Bubba Derby earning honors as the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for the week spanning from August 14th-20th.

In a pair of starts, covering 12.2 innings or work, the 23-year-old Derby went 2-0 with a 1.42 earned run average, allowing just two earned runs while striking out ten.

In ten starts since joining the Sky Sox, Derby has been quite impressive, going 4-0 with a 3.38 ERA in a tough pitching environment, holding opposing hitters to a .225 batting average over 53.1 innings of work.
