MILWAUKEE BREWERS 3, Los Angeles Dodgers 2
Jimmy Nelson took a no-hitter into the sixth inning as the Brewers nipped the Dodgers by a score of 3-2 on Sunday. Nelson wound up going 6.2 innings, allowing two runs as he earned his tenth win of the year. Corey Knebel came on for the ninth and recorded his 29th save of the year. Domingo Santana went 2-for-4 while Hernan Perez his his 13th home run of the year and Travis Shaw and Eric Sogard each added a double.
COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX, New Orleans Baby Cakes (Cancelled, Rain)
The Sky Sox had their game with New Orleans cancelled due to rain, but they wound up clinching a playoff berth anyway as Oklahoma City fell to Omaha in the first game of their doubleheader, giving the division crown to Colorado Springs
Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 5, BILOXI SHUCKERS 10
The Shuckers belted four home runs as they doubled up Jacksonville, 10-5. Luis Ortiz started and worked four innings, allowing two runs and Nick Ramirez picked up the win despite giving up two runs in his two innings of relief. Jacob Nottingham belted a pair of home runs while Javier Betancourt and Angel Ortega each went yard and Gabriel Noriega added four hits in five at-bats.
CAROLINA MUDCATS 5, Myrtle Beach Pelicans 6
The Pelicans tied the game with a run in the ninth, then after Carolina plated one in the top of the tenth, Myrtle Beach responded with two in the bottom half to walk off with a 6-5 win in extra innings. Marcos Diplan started and went 6.2 innings, allowing just one run. Luke Barker allowed the two tenth inning runs and was charged with the loss. Monte Harrison finished the game 3-for-5 with a double while Corey Ray and Lucas Erceg each chipped in a single, a double and a walk.
WISCONSIN TIMBER RATTLERS 0, Clinton LumberKings 1
Wisconsin managed just four hits as they were shutout by Clinton, dropping a pitcher’s duel by a score of 1-0. Carlos Herrera started and tossed six scoreless innings for the Rattlers, but Jordan Desguin allowed a run in the ninth and was charged with the loss. Dallas Carroll doubled while Trever Morrison, Jonathan Oquendo and Demi Orimoloye each added a single.
HELENA BREWERS 2, Billings Mustangs 4
Billings scored three runs in the fourth inning as they topped Helena 4-2. Harold Chirino started and took the loss after going three innings and giving up one run. Alexander Guenette led the Helena offense, going 2-for-3 with strikeout. KJ Harrison doubled and walked while Chad McClanahan added a double for the Brewers.
