St. Louis Cardinals 10, MILWAUKEE BREWERS 2

The Brewers were embarrassed by the Cardinals in the first game of their two-game set, losing by a score of 10-2.  Matt Garza turned in yet another awful outing, going just 3.1 innings and allowing six runs as his record fell to 6-8 on the year.  Domingo Santana and Jonathan Villar each finished with two hits while Eric Thames added his 28th home run of the season.

COLORADO SPRINGS SKY SOX 1, Round Rock Express 4

Round Rock scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh as the came back to knock off Colorado Springs by a score of 4-1.  Aaron Brooks made his first start for the Sky Sox and tossed four shutout innings before giving way to the bullpen.  Wei-Chung Wang was charged with the loss after allowing two runs, one earned.  Tyler Heinaman doubled for the lone extra-base hit for the Sky Sox while Yadiel Rivera added a single and a walk.

Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, BILOXI SHUCKERS (Postponed, Rain)

The Shuckers had their game with Jacksonville postponed due to rain on Tuesday evening.  The two teams will try to make up the game as part of a doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday.

Winston-Salem Dash 0, CAROLINA MUDCATS 2

A two-run home run off the bat of Lucas Erceg accounted for the only runs of the ballgame as the Mudcats topped Winston-Salem by a score of 2-0.  Jordan Yamamoto got the start and twirled seven scoreless innings of three-hit baseball to earn the win, with Nate Griep notching his 27th save of the year.  Weston Wilson doubled for the only other Carolina hit.


The Timber Rattlers had an off day on Tueday.  They return home on Wednesday night to open up their final homestand of the season, a three game set with the Beloit Snappers.

HELENA BREWERS 15, Great Falls Voyagers 13

Helena jumped out to a big lead, then held on from there as they beat Great Falls in a slugfest, 15-13.  Starting pitcher Michael Petersen went five innings, allowing two earned runs, and picked up the victory,  Cody Beckman was awarded the save. Gabriel Garcia led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a home run and five runs batted in while leadoff man Kenny Corey was on base five times, going 4-for-5 with a walk.

AZL BREWERS 3, AZL Dodgers 5

The Brewers plated three runs in the eight but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Dodgers, 5-3.  Christian Taugner started and was charged with the loss after giving up three runs, two earned, in 3.1 innings of work.  Pablo Abreu finished 1-for-3 with a double while Jesus Lujano and Brent Diaz both singled and walked and Yeison Coca went 1-for-3 with two runs batted in.
