Profile: Born in Las Matas de Farfan in the Dominican Republic, Adames signed with the Brewers as an international free agent in 2015.  He joined their affiliate in the Dominican Summer League a year later and made 22 relief appearances there, handling himself well in a relief role.  He returned to the DSL for the 2017 season but moved into a starting role for the Brewers, where he proved to be one of the team’s most reliable starters.  Tall and lanky, Adames has plenty of room to fill out and as he does, could add velocity to his pitches.  He’s already made some solid advancements for a young player, missing bats while showing the ability to work deep into games.

2016: Signed by the Brewers the previous December, Adames made his pro debut in the Dominican Summer League in 2016, working in 22 games out of the bullpen for Milwaukee’s DSL team.  He went 3-2 with a 3.65 earned run average, converting on his lone save chance and posting a WHIP of 1.17.

2017:  The Brewers saw enough from Adames in short stints in 2016 that they moved him into the starting rotation in 2017.  In his second stint with the DSL Brewers, Adames started 13 of the 14 games he worked in, going 5-6 with a 3.13 ERA, striking out 80 batters in 74.2 innings of work.
