How acquired: Free Agent (January 26, 2016)

Profile: Signed by the Brewers out of the Dominican Republic in January of 2016, Avalo got his pro career underway in the Dominican Summer League that same season, playing for the Brewers DSL squad and splitting time between catcher and first base.  He returned to the DSL for a second stint in 2017 and made marked improvements both offensively and defensively.  With a strong arm and a quick release, Avalo cut down 43% of potential base stealers in 2017 while also making great strides with his receiving.

2016: After inking a deal with Milwaukee, Avalo made his professional debut in the Dominican Summer League in 2016, appearing in 50 games for the Brewers club.  He hit just .402 with four doubles, a triple and a home run while driving in 16 and scoring 19 runs.

2017:  Avalo returned to the Dominican for a second season in 2017 and again rotated between playing first base and catcher.  In 51 games he showed improvements at the plate, hitting .268 with nine doubles and three home runs and he also helped keep the running game in check with solid work behind the plate.
