Profile:  Signed by the Brewers out of the Dominican Republic in 2013, Benoit spent his first three seasons in Milwaukee’s organization pitching for their team in the Dominican Summer League.  He finally came stateside in 2016, pitching in 16 games for Helena, then split the 2017 season between Helena and Class-A Wisconsin.  A wiry right-hander with a high 3/4 delivery, Benoit is a strike thrower, but can get himself into trouble when he catches too much of the plate, resulting in some high home run totals.

Immediately after signing with Milwaukee, Benoit was assigned to their affiliate in the Dominican Summer League, where he saw action in six games, making a pair of starts.  He finished the year with an 0-2 record and an ERA of 6.75 in 13.1 innings of work.

Benoit returned to the DSL in 2014 and started seven of the eight games he pitched in for the DSL Brewers.  The right-hander doubled his innings total from a year earlier and wound up going 1-3 with a 4.73 ERA.

Milwaukee chose to have Benoit return to the Dominican for a third consecutive season in 2015 and he turned in his best season so far.  In 12 games, all of which came as a starter, Benoit finished 6-1 with a 2.10 ERA.  He racked up 52 strikeouts in 73 innings of work and ended the year with a WHIP of 0.92

Coming off of his strong 2015 performance in the DR, the Brewers brought Benoit stateside in 2016 and assigned him to Helena in the Pioneer League.  He worked as both a starter and a reliever there, going 0-3 with a 7.23 earned run average.

The Brewers opted to have Benoit start the 2017 season in extended spring training, then sent him back to Helena once their season opened in June. He saw action in 11 games there, recording 28 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work before being promoted to Class-A Wisconsin, where he finished out the year by making six more appearances for the Timber Rattlers.
