Profile: Signed by the Brewers out of the Dominican Republic in May of 2013, Brea made his debut a year later, pitching for Milwaukee’s affiliate in the Dominican Summer League.  He spent each of his first four seasons in the DSL, working almost exclusively out of the bullpen, moving into the closer’s role in 2017.  A strike-thrower who has shown steady improvement in each of his first four seasons, Brea pitches to contact and relies more on command than pure stuff at this point in his career.

After signing with Milwaukee a year earlier, Brea was send to the DSL to begin his career in 2014.  He made 15 relief appearances there, going 1-0 with a 6.55 earned run average while converting on his lone save opportunity.

Brea returned to the Dominican Summer League in 2015 and saw a slight increase in his workload with minor statistical improvements across the board.  He lowered his ERA to 5.06 and converted on two save chances while striking out nearly a batter per inning.

The Brewers opted to have Brea return to the Dominican for a third consecutive season in 2016 and he turned in his best season so far.  In 21 appearances, he went 1-1 with a 2.11 earned run average while successfully converting on all three of his save chances.

Despite his success in 2016, Brea returned to the DSL for a fourth straight season in 2017.  He took over as the closer for the DSL Brewers and racked up a career high ten saves.  In 24 relief appearances, he went 2-4 with a 2.43 ERA, spanning 40.2 innings.
