BROWN, DALTON

Position: Pitcher

DOB: September 15, 1993

Height: 6’4″ / Weight: 250

Bats: Right / Throws: Right

40-man roster: No

How acquired: Draft (30th Round, 2016)

Profile: Drafted by the Brewers in the 30th round in 2016, Brown began his collegiate career at the University of Arizona before transferring to Texas Tech as a freshman.  He signed with Milwaukee following the draft and split his first pro season between Maryvale and Helena, making 12 relief appearances.  Brown moved up to Class-A Wisconsin in 2017 but appeared in just two games with the Timber Rattlers before being shut down for the season with an injury.  With a fastball that has touched the mid-90’s, Brown has shown the ability to blow the ball by hitters when he is healthy and has done a good job of avoiding walks in limited action.

2016:  Upon signing with Milwaukee, Brown was sent to the AZL to begin his pro career with Maryvale.  He made six relief appearances there, going 1-0 and not allowing a run  over nine innings of work.  That earned him a bump to Helena, where he finished out the season by appearing in six more contests out of the bullpen, going 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA.

2017:  Brown made the jump to full-season ball in 2017, joining the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to open up the year.  He pitched in just two games for Wisconsin however, getting roughed up in both, before being shut down for the season with an undisclosed injury.
