Profile: Drafted by the Brewers in the ninth round out of Utah, Carroll was a fifth-year senior who signed for a below-slot bonus of $10,000.  He was assigned to Helena to kick off his pro career and excelled there, earning Pioneer League All-Star honors before being promoted to Class-A Wisconsin.  A little bit older player, having missed a year with a broken collarbone, Carroll saw most of his action in his first season at third base, but also has the ability to play second base.  He showed an advanced approach against younger pitchers and displayed an ability to drive the ball to all fields while still hitting for average as well.

2017:  The Brewers chose to have Carroll start his career in the Pioneer League in Helena, but after hitting .336/.418/.525 through his first 30 games, he quickly received a promotion to Class-A Wisconsin.  He finished out his debut season by playing in 30 games with the Timber Rattlers, batting .261/.346/.405.  He wound up with an even .300 average between the two leagues with 20 of his 42 hits going for extra-bases, including nine home runs.
