Profile: A July 2nd signing by the Brewers in 2016 out of the Dominican Republic, Cruz made his pro debut with Milwaukee’s Dominican Summer League team in 2017, appearing in 50 games for the DSL Brewers.  He really struggled to make contact as a 17-year-old in the DSL and his slight frame does not generate much power at present either.  Listed as a shortstop at the time of his signing, Cruz saw most of his playing time at third base in his first season, sprinkling in a little bit of action at second as well.

2017:  The Brewers assigned Cruz to their DSL affiliate in 2017, where he made his professional debut.  In 50 games there, he hit just .160 with seven doubles and eight runs scored.  Cruz struggled to p[ut the bat on the ball, striking out 51 times and also had a tough time in the field, committing 16 errors in 111 chances.
