Profile:  Picked by the Diamondbacks in the 18th round out of Chipola Junior College in 2016,  Francis opted to return to school for another year, and the decision proved to be a good one as he was taken by Milwaukee in the seventh round a year later.  He signed for $235,000 and began his pro career by pitching for the Brewers’ affiliate in the Arizona League.  With good size at six-foot-five, Francis sits in the low-to-mid-90’s with his fastball and has experience as both a starter and a reliever.  He was hit hard in his first season in the Brewers’ system, but it is a small sample size and he did manage to strike out more than a batter per inning, leading to hope that he will continue to develop into a power arm with more seasoning.

2017:  The Brewers assigned Francis to their Arizona League affiliate after signing him, but they were careful to limit his innings in his first season.  He appeared in four games, starting two, but logged just ten innings, going 0-1 with an 8.10 earned run average.
