Profile: Selected by the Brewers out of high school in the 24th round in 2016, Gonzalez turned down an offer from Miami Dade JC to sign for $80,000 and was sent to the Arizona League to begin his pro career.  He saw limited action with the AZL Brewers in 2016, then returned for a second season in 2017.  A hard-thrower with a high 3/4 delivery, Gonzalez had good mechanics and sits in the low-to-mid-90’s with his fastball, with reports that he was clocking 95 mph during his high school days.  The biggest issue for Gonzalez early on has been his command, as he has issued more walks that you would like to see and despite his live arm, his fastball can get too straight at times, resulting in some hard-hit balls.

2016:  After signing with Milwaukee following the draft, Gonzalez made his way to Maryvale, where he made his pro debut with the AZL Brewers.  He pitched in ten games there, starting five, and wound up going 1-1 with an 8.06 ERA.

2017:  Gonzalez returned to the Arizona League for a second season in 2017, again seeing time as both a starter and a reliever.  He worked in 12 games, logging 29.2 innings and finished his second season with a record of 1-4 to go along with an ERA of 11.22.
