Profile:  Signed by the Brewers in 2017 after going undrafted following his senior season at Florida Southern, Hanes began his professional career with Milwaukee’s AZL affiliate in Maryvale, before moving up to Helena in early August.  Working strictly as a reliever, the six-foot-two Hanes struggled against some tougher hitters in the Pioneer League but he showed good poise on the mound, not getting rattled.  While his stuff isn’t over-powering, Hanes pitches to contact and keeps the ball down in the zone, giving his defense a chance behind him.

2017:  The Brewers signed Hanes to a free agent deal and sent him to Arizona to get his career started.  He made five relief appearances for the AZL Brewers, going 1-0 with a 1.69 earned run average and recorded one save before moving up to Helena.  He pitched in nine more games there, and went 1-4 with a 4.58 ERA in 17.2 innings of work.
