Profile:  Signed by the Brewers as a free agent after going undrafted following his senior season at Murray State, Lawrence hit .292 with ten home runs in his final year of college, then was assigned to Maryvale where he joined the AZL Brewers after inking his deal with the Brewers. An adequate defender behind the plate, Lawrence is the rare catching prospect that is heralded more for his bat than his glove.  He showed enough improvements with his defense during his college career, but it’s the offense that got him signed by Milwaukee.  With a compact frame, Lawrence generate plus power thanks to his strength and above average bat speed.  He put up gaudy offensive numbers as a junior and though he took a step back in 2017, the bat will ultimately determine how far he climbs.

2017:  After agreeing to terms with Milwaukee following the 2017 Draft, Lawrence was sent to Arizona to begin his professional career with the AZL Brewers.  He appeared in 15 games there and hit .182/.294/.341 with two doubles, a triple and a home run while throwing out opposing base stealers at a 27% clip.
