Profile:  Signed by the Brewers out of Venezuela in 2015, Medina made his professional debut the following season, pitching for the Brewers’ affiliate in the Dominican Summer League.  He returned to the DSL for a second season in 2017, pitching for Milwaukee’s co-op team which they shared with the Indians.  Working primarily as a starter, Medina does a good job of pitching to contact, allowing him to work deeper into games.  While he doesn’t have over-powering stuff he has a good mound presence and has demonstrated an ability to attack hitters and rely on his defense behind him.

2016:  After signing with Milwaukee the previous winter, Medina joined the DSL Brewers in 2016 and saw action in 13 games, starting seven of them.  He went 4-4 with a 4.04 earned run average, finishing the year with a WHIP of 1.22.

2017:  The Brewers chose to have Medina spend his age 19 season in the DR as well, assigning him to their co-op club, where he was a fixture in the team’s starting rotation.  Getting the start in 14 of the 15 games he worked in, Medina went 4-4 with a 3.10 ERA, logging 72.2 innings on the mound.
