Profile: Signed by the Brewers out of San Rafael del Yuma in the Dominican Republic in 2015, Pena made his pro debut the following season, suiting up for Milwaukee’s affiliate in the Dominican Summer League.  He returned to the DSL for a second go-round in 2017, this time playing for Milwaukee’s co-op team.  A tall left-hander who still has room to grow, Pena showed improvement across the board in 2017.  With a below average throwing arm and average speed at best, Pena is best suited for left field, but his bat is his calling card.  He shows a good feel for finding the barrel and there is hope that he can grow into some power as he develops.

2016:  Pena was assigned to Milwaukee’s affiliate in the DSL in 2016 and got his feet wet there, appearing in 30 games for the Brewers.  He hit just .220 with four doubles in limited playing time as a 17-year-old.

2017:  The Brewers chose to have Pena remain in the Dominican for a second season, assigning him to their co-op team which they shared with the Indians.  He showed solid advancement at the plate, hitting .264 with six doubles and a triple in 40 games there.
