Profile:  Signed by the Brewers out of the Dominican Republic in March of 2016, Montas found himself pitching for the Brewers Dominican Summer League team later that year, making ten starts.  He returned to the DSL for a second season in 2017, but made the move to the bullpen with slightly better results.  A hard thrower with the ability to blow the ball by hitters, Montas struggles to throw strikes at times, but a move to a relief role seems to have helped him some and the belief is that he will stay in that role moving forward.

2016:  Milwaukee assigned Montas to their Dominican Summer League team after signing him during spring training and he was inserted into the starting rotation, starting 10 of the 12 games he pitched in.  He got roughed up in his debut, going 2-7 with a 5.24 ERA, struggling to throw strikes in his 46.1 innings of work.

2017:  The Brewers opted to have Montas return to the DSL in 2017, sliding him into the bullpen.  The big right-hander took to the role, piling up 47 strikeouts in 41 innings of work, but again struggled with his command, walking 26 batters.
