Profile: Signed by the Brewers out of the Dominican Republic at the age of 18, Romero made his pro debut a season later, pitching for Milwaukee’s affiliate in the Dominican Summer League.  Working mainly as a starter in his first season, Romero struggled to find the strikezone at times, resulting in a lot of runners on base.  When he is locating, Romero can sneak his fastball by hitters and he should add velocity as he develops, but throwing strikes will be a key if he is to continue to advance.

2017:  Inked to a contract the previous summer, Romero made his professional debut in 2017, pitching for the DSL Brewers.  He saw action in 13 games, starting nine of them, but finished the season with a record of 0-4 and an ERA of 4.34.  In 47.2 innings of work, Romero recorded 38 strikeouts, but also walked 33, finishing the season with a WHIP of 1.80.
