Profile: A member of Milwaukee’s July 2nd signing class in 2016 out of Venezuela for a bonus reported to be worth $250,000, Salaya made his pro debut in 2017, pitching for Milwaukee’s affiliate in the Dominican Summer League, making 13 starts for the DSL Brewers.  With a  fastball that already sits in the low-90’s Salaya should add velocity as his frame fills out.  A bulldog on the mound, Salaya also throws a better than average changeup and has shown feel for a breaking ball as well.  He struggled to find the strike zone at times in his first season of pro ball, but that’s not entirely unexpected from a player so young.

2017:  After signing with Milwaukee in 2016, Salaya made his professional debut in 2017 pitching in the Dominican Summer League.  He made 13 starts for the DSL Brewers, going 2-6 with a 4.60 earned run average.  In 47 innings of work, Salaya struck out 23 but issued 36 walks.
