How acquired: Free Agent (June 22, 2017)

Profile:  After going undrafted out of college, Texiera signed with the Brewers in June of 2017 as an undrafted free agent.  After beginning his college career at Miami Dade Community College, Texiera transferred to LSU-Shreveport, where he pitched for four seasons, working as both a starter and a reliever.  He signed with the Brewers following the draft and was immediately sent to Helena, where he worked out of the bullpen.  He struggled with his control in his pro debut and when he did throw strikes, opposing hitters took advantage, belting five home runs and posting a .297 average against him in 17 appearances.

2017:  Already 24 at the time of his signing with the Brewers, Texiera was thrown into the mix at Helena right after signing and wound up working 29.2 innings of relief in his debut season.  He finished the year with a record of 0-2 to go along with an earned run average of 6.98 with a WHIP of 1.72.
