Profile: Signed by the Brewers out of Puerto Rico in 2015, Torres began his pro career that same season, playing for Milwaukee’s team in the Dominican Summer League.  He returned to the DSL Brewers a year later, then played for the Brewers’ co-op team in the Dominican in 2017.   A good athlete who has also seen time at first, second and third base, as well as in the outfield, Torres is most valuable behind the plate, where he has spent the majority of his time since coming into the Brewers’ organization.   A good hitter who has shown developing power, Torres has good bat-to-ball skills and rarely strikes out, showing an advanced approach for his age.

2015:  After signing with Milwaukee, Torres joined their affiliate in the Dominican Summer League, but saw limited action in his first professional season.  Playing in just eight DSL games, Torres wound up hitting .250, going 7-for-28 with a triple.

2016:  Torres returned to the DSL Brewers in 2016 and saw his role increase, appearing in 49 games there.  He hit .252/.348/.322, collecting two doubles and four triples while driving in ten runs and scoring 23.  Torres walked 19 times while striking out just 14 in 143 at-bats.

2017:  Milwaukee has Torres return to the Dominican Summer League for a third consecutive season in 2017, assigning him to their co-op team which they shared with the Indians.  One of the team’s most consistent hitters, Torres posted a .294 average with six doubles, one triple and one home run, striking out just six times all season.
