Profile:  Originally taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 29th round of the 2014 Draft, Trent began his college career at LSU before transferring to Delgado Community College and then Ole Miss.  He opted to return to Ole Miss for his junior season and then was selected again, this time by Milwaukee, in the 24th round in 2015.  He began his pro career with a brief stint in Maryvale before moving up to Helena.  He split the 2016 season between Maryvale and Class-A Wisconsin, but then wound up missing the entire 2017 season.  A hard-thrower with the ability to blow his fastball by hitters, the left-handed Trent hasn’t seen a ton of action since joining Milwaukee’s farm system, but he’s managed to throw strikes and handled younger competition fairly well early on.

2015:  After signing with Milwaukee, Trent was sent to Maryvale, where he made one relief appearance in the AZL before quickly being bumped up to Helena.  He finished the season out with Helena by appearing in 12 games, five of which came as a starter, and he posted a record of 2-1 with a 4.15 earned run average.

2016:  The Brewers had Trent open up 2016 back in Maryvale in extended spring training, and he followed that up by turning in seven dominant outings in the AZL, posting a 1.65 ERA over 16.1 innings.  That earned him a promotion to Class-A Wisconsin and he finished out the year with the Timber Rattlers by making three relief appearances and recording 11 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.

2017:  Williams sat out all of the 2017 season.
